fetus babies in a cube. One floats, the other sinks.......sounds like a rattle when you shake the cube

that's eerie. very cool, but eerie. now your sculpture I can get a sense of how you do by looking at it. But how did you assemble the cube? I've never done or thought hard on an application like that. so I have no idea how it is done. (makes me think you should do a sno-globe full of 'em, lol. max out the gross/disturbing factor. keep making weird things. they are great)

hey thanks

the cube is made from Acrylic Resin, which is also known as Plexiglass (that's the brand name which has seeped into own lexicon like the brand Kleenex), which is just another fancy word for "sheets of plastic". It can be heated up in the oven or with an heat gun, which makes it soft and bendable. I heated up a long strip that was cut to the desirable length and bent it (while it was still warm) to form the four walls, hence the rounded edges. Then all I did was just cap off the top and bottom of the cube and sealed all the edges with "Resin Bond" (which is a chemical adhesive made for this material) which dissolves the two adjoining sides and chemically fuses them into one solid piece. I believe this is also how they make some plastic fish tanks.....

Plastic scratches easily, but the scratches can be buffed out.....even buffed to a high sheen. Im my case I didnt buff it at all, so all the scratches are still there

did any of that make sense?

yes it did. makes perfect sense. I didn't know if you casted or what, but the heat gun and sheets. makes sense now.

This work alone can have a lot of meanings. I think it's very nice how you have one that floats and another that sinks; i do wonder how you are able to do that because they both look solid.

oh thank you...
this was the start of my whole
"Yin Yang" period...which is still
happening now I suppose

If you want to know how I achieved the
floating and sinking I'll tell you, but
of course you might not want to know..
it'll destroy the mystique.
